Configuring Persistent Data (Settings)

The Settings tabs contain the persistent information that can be used every time you create a new quote. These settings define the variables specific to your enterprise, such as the company name and address, delivery lead times, margins and markups that you add to categories of work, labor rates for different disciplines, die configurations, and stock assets that you can use in the die definition.

The configurable items are arranged in the following categories:

Item

Description

Company

Your company information such as name and address, email, website, and preferred units. You can also choose to hide items with no associated cost in the final estimates on this page.

Engineering  

Define the percentage increments to apply for different degrees of difficulty to Die Design and Prototyping. 

These details are used in the Estimate Die tab.

Die Size  

Define the Die Size VariablesDie Set (Shoe) dimensions (such as top and bottom plate thicknesses, die area and die set thicknesses, and guide details), WeightsCast Shoe Void Percentage and Pattern Cost, Die Plates details, Die Build Up details, and Die Forces

These details are used in the Calculate Die tab.

Machining  

Configure default Wire EDM and Die Surface Machining values. 

These details are used in the Plan Die tab.

Standards  

Create new Standard Sets that define Material values and Labor costs for a wide range of processes including build up, cam, design, die set, punch and die, pad, sensor, and stock control. 

These details are used in the Estimate Die tab.

Custom  

Create new custom items that can be added to your estimate. 

These details are used in the Custom Items tab.

Springs  

Specify the spacing values and item cost for Nitrogen Cylinders and Die Springs of specific diameters or force.

These details are used in the Die Specification tab.

Tool Steels  

Edit the cost for a Steel, or create new Tool Steel cost specifications. 

These details are used in the Die Specification tab.

Die Specs  

Edit or create a new Die Specification that can be used in the Die Specification tab.

Sensors  

Define the Standard Sensor Package for Progressive and Transfer Dies that can be used in the Calculate Die tab.

Presses  

Edit or create a new Press specification by defining the name, shut height, tonnage, stroke, bed size, feed width and thickness, and speed.

These details are used in the Calculate Die tab.

Labor Rates  

Select the default labor rate, or create a new definition by specifying a name, and labor rates for design, programming, machining, assembly, die surface machiing, wire EDM setup and run, tryout (prototyping) and inspection. You can also change the way that machine and assembly times are divided in a definition. 

These details are used in the Estimate Die tab.

Profit  

Edit or create a profit scheme by specifying the required profit on material costs and labor costs. 

These details are used in the Estimate Die tab.

Delivery  

Define delivery schedules to be determined by the total hours required for a job. 

These details are used in the Estimate Die tab.

Customers  

Create or edit customer profiles that include the customers address, area of industry in which they operate, the default die spec to use for their jobs, and any percentage adjustment to pricing. 

These details are used in the Estimate Info tab.

Price Adjust 

Define a percentage by which all final prices will be adjusted. 

This is used in the Estimate Die tab.
