Cimatron provides easy tools for packing (compressing) and unpacking Compressed Transfer File (CTF) files.
A CTF file is a Zip-like format for Cimatron files containing compressed files, data, and path information. A CTF file can be used for backup purposes or for sending to other users.
A CTF file is the best method for compressing Cimatron files, as only the relevant files in a folder are compressed. For example, when creating a CTF file of an assembly, only those files in the folder that are used in the assembly are automatically compressed and included in the CTF file; all other files in the folder that are not used in the assembly are not included in the CTF file. Therefore, the CTF file contains all the associated files.
Note: From Cimatron 11:0, CTF files holding many Drafting files that all point to the same models are dramatically compressed. Unpack and open these files using Cimatron 11.0 or later.
